AP isolation is a wireless setting on CenturyLink routers. It prevents the wireless devices connected to the network to access the devices connected via Ethernet or USB cable to the network.
If you wish to disable the AP isolation setting on your CenturyLink router, follow the below-mentioned steps.
- Make sure that your Windows computer and the Wi-Fi router are connected using a standard Ethernet cable.
- Turn on both the devices and wait until the Wi-Fi router comes to the standby mode.
- On your Windows computer, close all the running programs and open the default browser.
- Enter the router's IP address in the URL field and press the Enter key to open the router's login portal.
- You can identify the router's IP address on the label attached to the backside of the router.
- Alternatively, click the Start menu and type 'cmd' in the search panel.
- Press the Enter key and give a right-click on the Command Prompt app from the search result.
- Select the Run as administrator option from the pop-up menu.
- In the Command Prompt window, type 'ipconfig' and press the Enter button.
- Navigate to the Default Gateway section to identify your router's IP address.
- Close the Command Prompt app and open the router's login portal on your default browser.
- Type your default username and password in the required fields if you have not changed the login credentials.
- After entering the login credentials, click the Apply button to open the router's administrative interface.
- Next, click on Wireless Setup.
- Under Basic Settings, click the Disable radio button.
- Click Apply to save the changes and check if the AP isolation setting has been disabled.
