How To Uninstall Nvidia Drivers?

The NVIDIA driver is a software for controlling Graphics Processing Unit and Graphics card on the system. It communicates with the device using the system software. You have to install the driver on the Windows system, after which the Windows automatically finds the updates for the NVIDIA driver. In case you want to replace the GPU with a new one, you can uninstall NVIDIA drivers using the below steps.

Uninstall Nvidia Drivers
  • On the Windows computer, go to the File Explorer window and click the View tab at the top.
  • Tick the checkbox of the Hidden items menu. Now, all the files and folders appear in the window.
  • Select This PC on the left navigation panel and open the drive, which contains the installation program files on the right-side panel.
  • Find the NVIDIA folder and right-click on it; then choose Delete.
  • Following that, open the ProgramData folder, find the NVIDIA folders, and delete them.
  • Return to the main drive page, go to the Program Files folder, and delete the NVIDIA folders.
  • If you are using Windows 64-bit version, then you can find the Program Files (x86) folder. Open it and delete the NVIDIA folders present in it.
  • Again, go back to the main drive window, open the Users folder, and open the folder with the username.
  • In the Users folder, double-click the AppData folder and following that, open the Local folder.
  • Next, search for the NVIDIA folders and delete them.
  • Navigate to the AppData folder and open the Roaming folder. If you can find any NVIDIA folders in it, then delete them too.
  • Search for ‘control panel’ using the search bar on the desktop, and open the Control Panel window.
  • Below Programs, click the Uninstall a program menu.
  • A list of programs appears on the window. Find the NVIDIA program, then right-click it, and select the Uninstall option.
  • Perform the same steps to delete all the NVIDIA programs on the system.
  • When the uninstall is completed, restart the computer and check if the NVIDIA is successfully removed.
