Method 1: Check The Ink Cartridge Placement

  • Make sure the printer is turned on.
  • Open the cartridge access door.
  • On the right side of the print head, you will find the black ink cartridge.
  • Press the front of the black ink cartridge so you can release it.
  • Remove the cartridge from the slot.
  • Check if you have the protective tap removed from the cartridge.
  • Replace the cartridge if necessary.
  • Place the cartridge slowly and make sure it snaps into its place.

Method 2: Bring Printer Online

Fix 1: Disable The Use Printer Offline Option

  • Open the Control Panel window.
  • Select Devices and Printers and choose the HP OfficeJet Pro 6968 printer.

Fix 2: Restart The Print Spooler Service

  • Open the Run command (Windows key + R).

  • Locate the Print Spooler service.
  • Do a right-click on the option and select the Restart option.

Method 3: Paper Jam

  • Lift the output tray and pull the input tray.
  • Press the buttons on either side of the input tray, then remove the tray slowly.
  • Remove the paper from the tray and keep it aside.
  • Look inside for the jammed paper and get rid of it completely.
  • Place the paper back into the tray and slide the tray back into the printer.
  • Lower the output tray.

Jam From The Print Zone

  • Turn off the printer (first).
  • Open the cartridge access door.
  • Look inside the access door and see if there is any jammed paper inside.
  • Lift the paper path cover using the handle; see the jammed paper underneath and gently take it off the printer.
  • Reinsert the paper path cover into its place and close the cartridge access door.
